The Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program is a government-backed scheme that reduces the upfront cost of energy-efficient products for homes and businesses across Victoria. It works by creating certificates for the greenhouse gas savings each upgrade delivers, then allowing accredited providers to use those certificates to lower the price you pay.
Who can access the VEU rebate?
Most Victorian households, businesses and rental properties can access the VEU program. You do not need to own the house to be eligible — tenants, landlords and owner-occupiers can all access the rebate, depending on the product and who agrees to the installation. The exact rebate depends on the product being installed, the location, and the energy saved.
How does the discount work?
The discount is applied at the point of sale by an Accredited Provider. Greener Upgrade is a fully accredited Accredited Provider (AP) under the VEU program with AP number A003285. We handle the certificate creation and paperwork, so the saving shows up as a lower quote rather than a separate claim.
What products are covered?
Covered products include heat pump hot water systems, energy-efficient air conditioners, solar panels and battery storage, weatherproofing, pool pumps and more. The list is updated over time, so it is worth checking what applies to your property.
